Building and Giving For HIS Purpose

Making A Difference Inc. (MADI) is a 501(c)3 initiative formed in June
2000.

Vision:

Making A Difference Inc. is an organization of servant leaders focused on
helping our community's grassroots organizations develop their assets
and capacities in ways that help build livable and sustainable
neighborhoods in our city.

Mission:

Making A Difference serves the Dayton Metro area by "connecting
communities of resource with communities of need" while reconciling
people to Jesus Christ and to each other.

Making A Difference Inc.  provides technical assistance to  grass roots
organizations involved in neighborhood revitalization and/or
disadvantaged children/adults improvement  programs.

MADI was developed through a collaborative process, involving the
strategic thinking, focused efforts and shared goals of clergy,
community leaders, business owners, philanthropic institutions
and professional consultants.

The Goal:

The primary goal of the Making A Difference Inc. is to provide
grassroots organizations the technical resources needed to expand
their collective capacity to more efficiently develop, run and manage
their social outreach services, and  to increase their supportive income
streams through effective best practices  planning and execution.

We achieve the goal by using experienced servant leaders called to use
their talents and time to evaluate the organization's strategic and short
term goals, organizational strengths and weaknesses, and barriers to
meeting goals.  With the grassroots organization's leadership team, we
develop win-win recommendations and an implementation plan to get
the organization to it goals.

Why use us?

Our assessment team members believe in the power of faith and
the transforming power of faith at work.  We know the list of children and
adults in need is increasing and the funds to help are more difficult to
secure. We know the competition for these declining funds are growing.
We know funders are looking not only at which cause is being aided, but
at  the effectiveness and efficiency of those organizations requesting
funds.

We know if these service organizations do not increase capacity to help
more children and adults, there will be no where else to turn. We also
know, if these organizations do not get the help needed to adequately
meet their goals, the community will suffer. We also know if those called
to help these organizations do not heed the call, our Christian community
will suffer.

Those of us who will labor in this endeavor to grow grassroots
organizations' ability to serve do so out of a calling and not to
develop a means of  income. Our service quality will be high and
our servant leaders will receive no payment for rendering this
service.  Only funds to help cover office administrative services will be
sought.  We know we have to heed the call for help which
comes from our organizations of faith.

Governance:

The direction for MADI is provided by a board and steering committee
comprised of clergy, technical assistance providers, community leaders,
and funders.

Scripture Reference

Habakkuk 2:

2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it
plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall
speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come,
it will not tarry.
